Training and Support

Who are our services intended for?

University libraries support all members of the University of Montpellier community in their use of resources and information. Our training programs are designed for:

  • to students enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or equivalent degree program in health sciences
  • To doctoral students enrolled in the UM Doctoral College
  • to health science students (medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, midwifery) preparing their thesis
  • to the University’s faculty members, faculty researchers, researchers, and administrative and technical staff

Our 4 Approaches

No matter what your background, you can take advantage of four complementary forms of support, available throughout the academic year.

  • Courses in the curriculum

Our training programs are part of our academic offerings: bachelor’s and master’s degree courses in all disciplines, health-related programs, modules from the Doctoral College catalog for doctoral students, a program specifically for medical residents, and continuing education opportunities for staff.

  • Group workshops and customized sessions

The SCD organizes group workshops open for registration and offers customized sessions—either individual or group—tailored to a group, a teaching team, or a research unit.

  • Personalized support, on demand

You can request one-on-one assistance from a specialized librarian using the forms tailored to your profile on various topics: bibliographic research, literature reviews, reuse and management of your references, assistance with open-access publishing, digital identity, and research data management.

  • Open-access self-study resources

Tutorials, user guides, practical guides, and e-learning modules are available on Moodle, under the Student Support > Library section, as well as on the Canal U platform. These resources are accessible to the entire university community without prior registration.

Are you an undergraduate or graduate student, or are you enrolled in a continuing education program? The SCD is here to help you find, use, and properly cite the resources you need for your academic work.
